Seafoiler 35: Nearing Completion, Foil Systems Under Test

The Seafoiler 35 is almost finished. After months of engineering, simulation and careful composite work, our foiling cruiser has reached one of the most exciting phases of the project: testing the foil adjustment systems that will let her lift out of the water.

From simulation to structure

The Seafoiler 35 was shaped from the start by data. Working with D3 Applied Technologies, the team refined the placement of the foil and keel so the boat is well balanced at around 20 knots of true wind in a moderate sea. Further simulations showed how much small changes matter: moving the foil by just 20 centimetres had a measurable effect on speed and velocity made good on a reach.

The studies also produced a welcome simplification. With the boat properly balanced, additional rudder foils brought no real advantage. That means a less complex, easier-to-handle boat at a lower cost for owners.

Built in carbon, cured with precision

On the production side, a purpose-built, adjustable curing oven was developed and fine-tuned to give even heat and controlled airflow, so every carbon prepreg part cures uniformly. After testing several laminate configurations, full prepreg production began, supported by a growing composite team trained in continuous-fibre layups.

The hull was then reinforced with frames and stringers before the major milestone of joining hull and deck. The precision of the workmanship saved around 50 kg of bonding material, weight that matters on a boat designed to fly. With the structure closed, work moved on to sanding, fairing and preparing the surfaces for paint. Now: getting ready to fly

Today the boat is nearly complete, and the focus has shifted to the foil adjustment systems. These systems control how the foils are set and trimmed on the water, and they are key to delivering what the Seafoiler 35 promises: stable, comfortable flight with the ease of a cruising yacht.

Now open for orders

With the build nearly complete and the key engineering decisions confirmed through simulation and testing, the Seafoiler 35 is ready to order. Buyers are no longer signing up for a concept. This is a boat whose design, structure and production process are proven.

Owners can look forward to a carbon foiling cruiser that combines the thrill of flight with the comfort and simple handling of a cruising yacht. The optimised foil layout, without extra rudder foils, keeps the boat easy to sail and helps keep costs down.
